First Sock

As I was saying...

The Box O'Sox from Barbara Bretton inspired me. I've slowly been working on my sock yarn stash, but something about this prize got me going.

So, I picked this yarn:

I settled down with Silver's Sock Class and made my first sock.

Seriously, *MY* first sock! I'm so excited. I never thought I'd actually do it. I've tried and tried, but it just wasn't happening. I was so discouraged, but I never gave up. HA! Take that discouragement, I made a sock! ;-)

So again, thank you Barbara for the Box O'Sox!!!

Lesley was the first leg of the race and I was second. This was my first "race" swap and I was so nervous! I got the box Thursday afternoon and had it back in the mail Friday morning. Of course I was in a panic making sure I had everything in the box that needed to be, I forgot to take a picture of what I sent to Chris! lol

Handmade Washcloth and Soap Swap

The dishcloth is made with Cotton Chenille (Scuba) yarn and it's so soft. The soap is Lavender and smells great. The yarn is from Peaches & Creme (Shades of Rust).

Stash Enhancement - Astrid's

This was one of my first online sock purchases and of course I pick a place that's overseas. ;-) The shipping was enough to make me reconsider, but with the coaching of ozknitter, we came up with a plan that I could live with. lol Unless you're combining an order with friends, it really is best to stay under 475g to keep the shipping charges manageable (at least it was for me). Astrid was very patient and kind to this American newbie sock knitter. I LOVE the yarn. The images online just don't do the colorways justice.
